Old Standby for Dinner

We had asparagus casserole for dinner tonight. I briefly considered trying a creamed asparagus soup but it was too hot out - what happened to fall? - so we had this old standby instead. And yes, I doubled the recipe so there are leftovers for tomorrow. Evin said people are going to get the idea we only eat every other day!
